‘Who Do You Think You Are?’ comes to Eppingen!
A family from Detroit in the USA contacted the Eppingen association via our website, asking for help in tracing their German ancestry there. In September 2024 they travelled to Eppingen, where committee members Heike Lachowitzer and Eva Mairhofer were able to help them with their research – and threw in a guided tour of the town for good measure.
With further assistance from family historians, a trawl of the archives enabled them to identify their local ancestors as well as distant relatives currently living in the area. This was a very moving experience for the American family, and another visit is in the pipeline.
